We are delighted to announce that Dr. Christine Hong, a longtime member of the Pacific, Asian, and North American Asian Women in Theology and Ministry (PANAAWTM), has been appointed as our Capacity Building Grant Director. Following an extensive search, Dr. Hong was selected for this pivotal role, which she began as of February 3, 2025.
Dr. Hong brings a wealth of experience, a deep commitment to justice-centered feminist theologies, and a strong alignment with PANAAWTM’s values and mission. In her new role, she will coordinate and guide our capacity-building initiatives through the Capacity Building Support Grant, generously funded by the Lilly Endowment via Leadership Education at Duke Divinity School.
Working closely with the Executive Committee, Board, staff, and consultants, Dr. Hong will lead efforts to strengthen PANAAWTM’s governance and sustainability while focusing on strategic planning to support our transformative work. As a longtime member of PANAAWTM, Dr. Hong has a deep understanding of our history, mission, and vision, making her an exceptional choice for this position. We are confident that Dr. Hong’s leadership will greatly enhance PANAAWTM’s mission to co-create theologies, nurture leadership, and foster justice, peace, and creation care in theological education and ministry.
Upon joining the team, Dr. Hong said, "I am honored to work alongside the Executive Committee, Board, Staff, and members to build capacity towards PANAAWTM's thriving future. Together, we carry forward a beautiful legacy and lay a more expansive and inclusive foundation for decades of Pacific, Asian, and Asian North American women to come."
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Christine Hong to PANAAWTM in this important capacity!
