About PANAAWTM

Mission

PANAAWTM (“Pacific Asian and North American Asian Women in Theology and Ministry”) advances feminist leadership in faith communities, the academy, and the wider society.

Identity

PANAAWTM,a 501c non-profit organization, is a transnational feminist network for people of Asian heritage who identify as women or non-binary. We are an LGBTQIA-affirming organization. We honor multiple religious belonging, are rooted in Christian traditions and are committed to interreligious engagement.

Values

  • Intergenerational and multi-ethnic relationships through mentoring, peer support, and community building.

  • Transnational feminist collaborations for justice, peace, and ecological care.

  • Innovative scholarship and embodied knowledge.

  • Diverse perspectives and experiences.

Responsibilities

This position will coordinate and steer PANAAWTM’s capacity building work emerging from the Capacity Building Support Grant generously provided by Leadership Education at Duke Divinity, in close partnership with the PANAAWTM Board chair and executive committee. This work will include reenvisioning and restructuring PANAAWTM for sustainability and expanded work.

The Program Director will collaborate with the executive committee, the board, the Project Manager, and consultants to:

  • increase and strengthen the board's capacity to ensure PANAAWTM's sustainability

  • initiate and conduct strategic planning as program planning shifts to committees

Tasks will include (but not be limited to):

  • Plan and facilitate strategic convenings with board members

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to fundraise toward sustainability of the organization and its activities, including a clearer membership structure, in coordination with the above-mentioned partners

  • Be the point person to identify, contract, and collaborate with consultants to engage in board training around fundraising and in strategic planning

  • Develop and implement a strategy to increase and strengthen the board's capacity to ensure PANAAWTM's sustainability and conduct strategic planning as program planning shifts to committees.

  • Collaborate with board members and appropriate consultants to reenvision and restructure PANAAWTM for sustainability and expanded work.

  • Serve as one of PANAAWTM’s representatives to the Duke Leadership Education grant activities

This person will be comfortable taking initiative; communicating professionally with the Board chair, executive committee and board members, PANAAWTM staff, and consultants; and ensuring the work outlined in the grant moves forward. As PANAAWTM, a legacy organization of Asian/American feminist theological work, is a young non-profit registered in the state of Georgia, familiarity with non-profit or similar organizations’ operation will be appreciated. Candidates shall have capacity for strategic thinking and planning, competency in organizational development work, and experience overseeing budgets and contracting with consultants, and a commitment to PANAAWTM’s values. Candidates with a passion for Asian feminist leadership and transnational justice, and alignment with PANAAWTM’s values are encouraged to apply.

As a result, we hope PANAAWTM will have a clearer vision and organizational structure that is appropriately scaled to best serve our constituents. The organization will be refocused thanks to strategic planning and begin its shift from being virtually all-volunteer, with primarily seasonal programming dependent upon the academic calendar, to one that is increasingly professional and growing as a player in the areas of ministry leadership and the academy. The organization would be more robust in its program offerings and programming would be strategically oriented toward supporting those we serve, even expanding upon how and who we serve.
